Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of mbrenndoerfer.com, academy.mbrenndoerfer.com, and related services operated by Michael Brenndoerfer in Singapore (the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

Accounts

You must provide accurate information, protect your account, and comply with applicable law. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need permission from a parent or guardian. You must be legally able to make a purchase.

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms, pose a risk to the Services or others, or must be restricted by law. You may delete your account through your profile settings.

Marketing Emails

If you create an account, subscribe to a newsletter, or buy a digital product, we add your email address to our marketing email lists. This covers all of them: the newsletter, general updates, announcements about each book, and Academy announcements. We do this so that you hear about the work you signed up for without having to find a separate form for each part of it.

You control each list separately. Every marketing message contains an unsubscribe link, and the preference page reached from that link lets you turn off any individual list, any category, or all marketing email at once. You do not need an account to use it.

Once you turn a list off, we leave it off. Creating another account or making another purchase does not switch it back on. Only you can do that, from the preference page or by asking us.

Service messages are different and continue regardless of your marketing choices: email verification and sign-in, receipts and order information, product delivery and download links, replies to things you send us, and notices we are required to send. These are part of providing the Services, not marketing.

Acceptable Use

You may not misuse the Services, interfere with their operation, bypass access or security controls, infringe another person's rights, submit unlawful or harmful material, or use accounts, download links, or purchased files beyond the rights granted to you.

Content and Intellectual Property

You keep ownership of content you submit. You give us the limited rights needed to host, display, moderate, and operate that content as part of the Services. You must have the right to submit it, and we may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

The Services and their original content are owned by Michael Brenndoerfer or the relevant licensors. Unless we expressly permit it or applicable law allows it, you may not copy, distribute, sell, publish, or create derivative works from that content.

Digital Products

Digital products are sold through Stripe Managed Payments. Stripe or its designated affiliate is the merchant of record and handles payment, tax, receipts, and transaction support under the terms shown at checkout, including the applicable Stripe Consumer Terms. Those terms control for the payment transaction if they conflict with these Terms.

The product, price, currency, tax, and any promotion are shown before payment. After payment is confirmed, we provide access to the purchased product. Contact us if a paid product is not delivered or does not work as described.

A purchase gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the delivered files. You may keep personal backup copies, but you may not share access, resell, publish, or distribute the files, or remove or bypass measures used to protect them. Ownership of the underlying work does not transfer to you.

Any included formats, updates, companion files, or upgrades are as described on the relevant product page. Access may be revoked if a payment is refunded, reversed, disputed, or fraudulent.

Refunds and Consumer Rights

Stripe or its designated affiliate handles payment and refund requests under the process presented for the purchase. Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be limited where you live.

Information and Third Parties

Materials provided through the Services are for general educational and informational purposes and are not professional advice. The Services may rely on or link to third-party services governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party content or availability except where applicable law provides otherwise.

Disclaimers and Liability

We aim to keep the Services accurate, secure, and available, but they may contain errors or be interrupted. To the extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without implied warranties.

To the extent permitted by law, Michael Brenndoerfer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from the Services. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

Changes

We may update the Services or these Terms. Material changes apply prospectively and will be posted here, with additional notice where required. The Terms in effect when a purchase was completed continue to govern that transaction.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. The courts of Singapore have non-exclusive jurisdiction. This does not limit mandatory protections or forums available to you under applicable law.
