Development Environment: A separate version of your agent used for testing changes before deploying to users. Often runs locally or on a dedicated test server.
Staging Environment: A production-like environment used for final testing before deploying to real users. Helps catch issues that only appear in production-like conditions.
Breaking Change: An update that isn't backward compatible, requiring code changes to work. For example, an API changing its response format.
Rollback: Reverting to a previous version of your agent after a problematic update. Most deployment platforms make rollbacks quick and easy.
Technical Debt: The accumulated cost of quick fixes and shortcuts that make future maintenance harder. Like financial debt, it compounds over time if not addressed.
Data Retention Policy: Rules for how long to keep different types of data. Helps manage storage costs and performance while meeting legal and business requirements.
A/B Testing: Running two versions simultaneously and comparing their performance. Useful for testing changes like new prompts or features.
Changelog: A record of what changed in each update, when, and why. Essential for understanding your agent's evolution and troubleshooting issues.
